But for those of you seeking a small glimpse of the reality behind the business of porn, I highly recommend this article/editorial/book.  It’s only 10 pages and you could probably get through it in an hour.  I enjoyed it, even though it had some bleak but true things about the profitablilty of porn and I hope you will enjoy it to.

It was a sad way for him to go out even though it was very poetic.  It fit him, even if you hated him for doing it.

But why all this talk of Thompson, he’s been dead for years.  He has, but as he left his parting words, so has Scott Fayner, once Hustler writer turned drugged out porn gossip magnate.  At his peak he was arrested while naked in a ditch with some pornstars while strung out on whatever his drug of choice was at the time.  But after much reflection, he has too left this life…  well the life of porn at least and to me this is a sad day.

These were his parting words, albeit far less poetic than Thompson’s.

“I’ve given up. There’s no use anyways, ’cause none of it does any good. I’ve known that for a long time, but for some reason kept on pushing with it…. Ok, so I did some creative editing to emphasize the absurdness of it all.  It leaves me sad.  I should write more about it but as Fayner himself said, “There’s no use anyways, ’cause none of it does any good.”

I’ve seen so many ‘official’ pornsites done wrong that it’s mind boggling.  Time and time again I stumble into ‘official pornsites’ that are nothing but a pretty tour page but inside there’s no exclusive content just have some low quality videos borrowed from other sites that really hold the license to these films.  It’s epic fail!

Lucky for us, there’s the Premium Pass network.  To start they launched with super sexy curvy diva Gina Lynn and the gorgeous petite babe Jenna Haze.  These sites had the content that would make you blow your load, and the two would do occasional live shows (like the one come up for Jenna Haze on the 9th) so their fans were getting their money’s worth; especially as all of Jules Jordan’s websites sat on their Premium Pass network which their fans would get as free bonus sites.  Later they added the official sites of Katsuni,  Eva Angelina and Audrey Bitoni as free bonus sites.

Now Premium Pass has gone above and beyond with Lexi Belle’s Official Pornsite.  Integrated into the site itself are Lexi’s blog, her twitter account an email form for her fans and a forum.  There’s no way you would ever get this much interactivty with a pornstar unless you go to shows.  True Lexi Belle fans need to get their asses into one of the best official pornsites I have ever seen.  Thumbs up to Premium Pass.

I think that there can be too much of a good thing.  I mean we had the Munsters, Bewitched, The Brady Bunch, The Office, Grey’s Anatomy, Three’s Company, The Partridge Family, Married With Children, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, etc…

So what next?  What’s going to become the next bandwagon that all of the studios are going to jump onto.  I guess if I knew I’d be making more money…

I’m not a huge fan of Playboy right now (note I didn’t even link to them).  They put off taking their company online too long and then to make up for it made some dumb ass purchases.   Now the company has tanked.  Staff at the Playboy mansion has been let go, offices close and now they are facing bankruptcy.  How far the rabbit tumbled.

Anyway, whatever…this ain’t about the current Playboy, it’s about Playboy of yester-year. The Playboy we all snuck out of our dad’s closet and wanked off to as kids.  It was the magazine for naked chicks, because dad’s not buying Hustler or Penthouse with mom around.

Playboy then was sprinkled with glamorous babes with beautiful bodies airbrushed to perfection.  We skiped the articles and wanted more pictures, but that was probably intentional to leave us hungry for more.  You can’t really capture that magic again, because the bottle’s already been opened, but you can look back to enjoy the nostalgia of it all.  That’s what this is about, Playboy’s first good idea in years.

Porn parodies have been huge for the last few years.  Almost all of them are shot by big companies and star the hottest pornstars of the day.  I gotta think that pornstars love filming this kind of movie because they can act silly and not have to make every scene seem serious and intense.  I mean how seriously are you going to take Ron Jeremy playing Al the Butcher?

Anyways, I’m in pretty tight with the guys over at New Sensations so when they broke the news that they were about to launch their newest porn parody I just had to post about it.  Shying away from the standard 70’s sitcom parody New Sensations is keeping things fresh by mocking popular current shows.  Just last month they offered up their parody of The Office, this time they are taking on Scrubs.

As far as I know, New Sensations doesn’t have a trailer for this movie yet, I think it’s still in production, but I’ll get you a link as soon as it’s available.
